Kaléo films is an independent film production company, founded by Olivier Charvet and Sophie Germain in 2001, based in Paris, France.
We develop and produce feature-length films and documentaries, for cinema and television. Author-driven films that we work with as craftsmen, from the initial script to the encounter with an audience.
Since 2020, we also offer consulting services to managers of companies in the Audiovisual & Culture sector, to assist them in the structuring and development of their companies and projects, and in their search for financing.
Olivier is a member of the ACE Producers and EAVE networks. Sophie is a member of the EURODOC network.

• Filmography for television :
We produced the documentaries by Gérald Caillat, Immortality for Arte and The Music competition for France 2, and the award-winning documentary series Classic archive (78 episodes of 52 minutes), in association with Ideale Audience, BBC and INA.
• Producers’ background :
Prior to Kaléo films, Olivier Charvet was managing director and producer at Ideale Audience between 1994 and 2001, and followed the production of the feature films Madame Butterfly by Frederic Mitterrand, and The Last Letter by Frederick Wiseman, and numerous international award-winning documentaries in the field of music and arts.
Sophie Germain was line producer at Ideale Audience between 1995 and 2006, and supervised the production of 20 international documentaries, that won many awards around the world. She worked closely with directors such as Frederick Wiseman, Bruno Monsaingeon, Marie-Hélène Rebois, Gérald Caillat, Georges Gachot, Alexander Sokurov, Sophie Fiennes.
